WHAT: Union Pacific is announcing temporary crossing closures associated with construction and maintenance work along its rail line passing through the city of Buda. The following crossings will be closed as work is scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the indicated days.
? N. Loop 4/Main Street – June 8
? S. Loop 4/FM 967 – June 9
? Houston Street – June 5 9:00am-12:00pm
As with all construction projects timelines are subject to change. Union Pacific will be placing message boards to alert drivers to the planned closures in the area ahead of time. Drivers are encouraged to be safe and follow any warning or detour signs.
This work is part of a capital improvement project for Union Pacific that will see the replacement of 20 miles of rail between Austin and San Marcos. For 2015, Union Pacific plans to invest over $383 million in projects like this one and others to enhance employee, community and customer safety and increase rail operating efficiency across the state of Texas.
