The City of Buda is fortunate to announce the employment of Brian Lillibridge who has accepted the position as Water Specialist. He will join the city’s team on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
Lillibridge received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography from Texas State University with a major in Resource and Environmental Studies and a minor in Geology. He brings to our city over 15 years experience working in the water industry.
He began his career in 1999 for the Edwards Aquifer Authority holding several positions that led to a Conservation Specialist, which entitled him to review, develop, and administer plans and actions for groundwater. In 2002 he furthered his career with San Antonio Water System (SAWS). At SAWS he held positions as a planner in the Water Conservation Department and a Specialist IV in Environmental Protection. His most recent duties included, but were not limited to, administering mitigation programs, supervising contractors, monitoring construction of replacement wells, managing and issuing contract expenditures, developing budgets, and collecting, sampling, documenting, and interpreting all information needed to keep a database on groundwater. Also, he has had practical experience building and maintaining working relationships and addressing the concerns and complaints of private well owners and agencies.
Lillibridge holds several certifications and many hours in continuing education. He is a licensed Class ‘B’ Groundwater Treatment Operator and a certified registered Environment Manager. Furthermore, he has forty hours of certification in Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPR). Lastly, he has attended San Antonio College where he completed Geographic Information Systems (GIS) courses, which qualify him in programming and raster based GIS.
