City Park Splash Pad to be Closed Wednesday, Aug. 23 for Maintenance of the Electrical System
We are currently facing significant challenges due to the prevailing heat and its adverse effects on the equipment and control rooms at our City Park and Green Meadows splash pads.
The rising temperatures have placed undue stress on the equipment, primarily stemming from the inadequate cooling capabilities of the control rooms. As a result, the internal temperature of these control rooms is reaching levels that are detrimental to the proper functioning of the equipment. This overheating issue has led to automatic safety shutdowns, disrupting the enjoyable experience we aim to provide to our community.
Moreover, the combination of high humidity levels and soaring temperatures is causing an additional set of problems. The equipment is experiencing moisture accumulation within its components, resulting in short circuits and subsequent malfunctions. These issues are not only affecting the performance of the equipment but are also necessitating the removal and replacement of damaged components, incurring unnecessary costs and downtime.
We recognize the urgency of addressing these challenges promptly to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our patrons. Considering these issues, we are actively exploring viable solutions to mitigate the impact of heat and humidity on our splash pad equipment. Our priority is to restore optimal functionality to the splash pads and to provide an enjoyable and safe experience for all visitors.
