Buda Economic Development Corp
Names New Executive Director
BUDA, TEXAS — The Buda Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) Board of Directors has named Jennifer Storm as its new executive director.
Storm, who formerly served as chair of the BEDC Board of Directors, will step into the role full time beginning in January 2023. As executive director, Storm is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, strategic relationships, incentive programs and support of capital improvement projects. However, she will begin work in a part-time capacity immediately in order to effectuate a smooth transition into her new role.
“We are ecstatic that Jennifer has decided to serve the organization as a versatile leader,” Buda Mayor Pro-Tem Evan Ture said, adding, “Not only does she bring a litany of pertinent talents and experience to the Executive Director position, but she is also already familiar with the interworking of the BEDC and business relationships in Buda, so she will hit the ground running.” Ture is a Buda City Council representative serving on the BEDC Board of Directors.
“I am excited to continue my service to the Buda community and looking forward to working in my new capacity as the Executive Director of the Buda EDC,” Storm said. “It is my goal to maintain the positive momentum we’ve built at the Buda EDC, and to continue supporting new and existing businesses."
Since 2008, Storm has worked to support associations including the Texas Retailers Association where she served as senior director of planning and administration; the Texas Federation of Drug Stores as association manager; the Texas Association of Regional Councils as its member services director; and the South Texas Chapter of the Associated General Contractors as executive director. Her background with organizational management, communications and marketing is extensive.
Storm earned her bachelor of business degree in marketing from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi. She has completed Leadership San Antonio, Leadership Corpus Christi and the Women’s Campaign School with the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas in Austin.
In addition to her work as BEDC chair, Storm’s community activity also includes serving on the Board of Directors for the Hays County Independent School District Education Foundation and the Baylor Scott and White Buda Advisory Board.
A native Texan, she has lived in Buda for nearly 10 years. Storm is married to David Nuckels, and they have two sons, Landon and Barret.
