City of Buda to Host In-Person Booda Halloween for
First Time Since COVID Pandemic
BUDA, TEXAS – Bring your youngsters out for a ghoulish time at the City of Buda’s Booda Halloween event from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, at Buda City Park, 204 San Antonio St., Buda, TX.
For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic affected public services across the nation, the City of Buda Parks and Recreation Department is presenting an “in-person” Booda Halloween event.
“While cases of COVID have not completely disappeared, there has been a desire to return to normalcy as much as possible. We felt strongly about bringing this very popular Halloween event back to City Park and allowing the businesses and community to interact and have fun with the kids,” Buda Parks and Recreation Director Greg Olmer said.
In addition to local businesses handing out candy, the event will feature several contests, including best adult male and female costumes. Youth contest categories will include most original, spookiest, and most boo-tiful, and a contest for best group costume.
Families and friends will be able to enjoy a variety of entertainment, including a haunted maze, the Corvette Club and food vendors.
The City of Buda is home to about 18,000 residents and has earned designations as a “Texas Main Street City,” “Tree City USA,” “Bee City Affiliate” and “Platinum Level Scenic City.” Buda is situated along the Interstate 35 corridor, has 14 parks and a historic downtown district where residents and visitors alike can shop, dine, relax, and breathe easy here.
