The City Council established the Task Force on Aging as an ad-hoc committee in response to a citizen's survey to help prioritize critical issues and needs of older citizens and their families. The results of the survey identified: 1) the need for a resource hub, 2) the need for additional transportation resources, 3) volunteer opportunities for older citizens, and 4) program opportunities to enhance cultural, learning, and intergenerational opportunities.
In 2017, the City Council appointed members to the Task Force on Aging. The Committee continues to function as a task force. The Committee desires to identify strategic goals before becoming an official board of the City.
This board meets monthly at the City Hall on the 3rd Monday of the month at 5:15 p.m.
