Find a COVID-19 Vaccine Near You

As part of the State of Texas vaccination plan, Texas continues to receive doses of the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines. The State's plan involves the use of registered medical providers such as medical clinics, pharmacies and hospitals to disseminate the vaccine. The local health dept. and emergency management divisions (county or city) are not part of this process.

Since Monday, Aug. 2, 2021, the City of Buda has been sponsoring free COVID-19 vaccination clinics at the Buda Drug Store. Pfizer vaccines are available by appointment for individuals 12 years and up:

Monday-Friday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Get a Booster

Who is eligible for a booster shot?


  • Pfizer boosters are available for individuals 12 years and up at least five months after their second shot. 
  • Moderna boosters are available for individuals 18 years and older at least six months after their second shot. 
  • Johnson & Johnson boosters are available for individuals 18 years and older at least two months after receiving their first J&J shot.  

Pfizer booster shots for individuals 18 years or older are available at the Buda Drug Store by appointment.

Hays County will be offering free walk-up COVID-19 testing and vaccine clinics (including Pfizer booster shots) through Jan. 21 at Hays CISD Transportation Bldg., 21003 I-35 in Kyle. Booster shots will only be available for individuals 12 years and up.

Free At-Home COVID-19 Tests

Every home in the U.S. is eligible to order four free at-home COVID-19 tests from USPS.com. Orders will typically ship between 7-12 days.  Only a set of four at-home tests can be ordered per household.

COVID-19 Locations

Free COVID-19 testing is available in Buda through Curative! The location is at the parking lot at Main Street and China Street near the public restrooms across from Main Street Dental. 

Appointments are available Monday-Sunday from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.

All testing is provided by Curative; they're using non-invasive oral swab tests. 

There are some changes we wanted to share at the Curative testing sites in Buda and around Hays County:
1. They are offering testing by appointment only until further notice (this applies to the "permanent" locations
2. Curative is now billing insurance but there is no out-of-pocket cost to the individual being tested.
3. Testing continues to be free to anyone without insurance.
